ch-ch-ch-changes

I quit my job yesterday. I grew weary of being stuck in the doldrums, struggling to get out of bed each morning for the drive into the office, entering in a foul mood despite the various musical pick-me-ups I cycled through during my negligible commute, tapping listlessly at my keyboard while my mind was a million miles away. Most of my coworkers can look the other way when problems crop up among the newsroom staff, but I’ve always been one to let it get to me — and I got sick of it. I feel good now, like I can face this semester with a clear head. My education is too important (and too expensive!) to let it fall by the wayside while I concentrate on a job I really haven’t been enjoying much lately.

So I quit. It feels nice, although I’m dreading having to tell everyone about it.

Many have asked what will happen to this blog now that DailyNewsie’s days are numbered. I do believe I’ll take the suggestion of my soon-to-be brother-in-law and keep it as a writing outlet. I do have a wedding to plan, after all, and I’m sure all of you will want to hear every last detail about that. (Three hundred and sixty-seven days, by the way.)

While my journalism career may be pausing at a comma — well, maybe stopping at a period, depending on how the next few years go — I have no intention of abandoning writing. I love it too much, and there’s still a novel somewhere inside here waiting to get out. Besides, that quill-and-inkwell tattoo on my leg isn’t going away anytime soon.

YEAH! Congratulations! Welcome to the other side, my friend. And congrats on getting engaged, too!

Remember when Raed told you that quill tattoo looked like a vacuum cleaner? It doesn’t, for the record, but that was still kinda funny.

Please keep the blog! I need reading material.

I’m so excited that you finally picked a date! :) If you need help planning anything, let me know, since I’m virtually done with it now! (A few things left to buy, and food to arrange - and I’m done!)

I’m glad you finally quit, things seem to have been stressing you out far too much lately. Sounds like the best thing for you.

    Good luck, sweetie :)
